Things to do in Brookhaven

Our favorite places

Family Friendly Things to Do

Brookhaven loves families just as families love Brookhaven. The city was built around families, from parks and restaurants to the annual Cherry Blossom and Arts festivals, where kid-friendly activities are abundant. Spend the day at Plaza Fiesta and discover a city within a city at this home to Georgia’s largest indoor playground. If kids were in charge of playground design, what they’d come up with would likely be Ashford Park. Swingsets, scooters, tennis courts, and a large area to run are just a few key features of this park, not to mention the views of the trains. End the day at any local bakery or ice cream parlor around the city. For a full day or just an open afternoon, Brookhaven offers plenty of places for children and grownups to enjoy together.

Brookhaven Events and Entertainment

Every season brings new ways to celebrate what is truly special about Brookhaven. Live music from your favorite bands at Cherry Blossom Festival, food and drinks from favorite local restaurants and breweries at the annual Beer Fest, races, artist markets, car shows, and activities for kids – there is a place for everyone. Bring the whole family or just the dog, there is always something to do in Brookhaven!

Shopping, Wining and Dining

Treat yourself to a fun-filled day as you set out on a shopping and dining adventure throughout Brookhaven’s local neighborhoods. Try a modern twist on Southern food at Secreto,  where farm-to-table ingredients punctuate the natural freshness of every meal. Have a fiesta with a few friends over the Mexican-American fare at PURE Taqueria. Step off the sidewalk and into style with a quick visit to Boogaloos or Marguerite’s on Dresden. Altogether, Brookhaven’s shopping and dining diversity can curb all cravings.

Parks and Recreation

While Brookhaven certainly has plenty of noteworthy indoor things to do, their numerous outdoor activities make this a perfect place to have some fun when you get that itch for the outdoors. Start with a visit to any of the beautiful local parks. Murphey Candler Park is filled with everything from sporting fields to green spaces, a lake, and a surrounding trail. Be sure to bring your suit if you want to hit the swimming pool after (or instead of) your exploration. Blackburn Tennis Center features 18 lighted hard courts, along with a pro shop and a staff of experienced tennis professionals. Four-legged friends can enjoy a beautiful day outside just as much as we do at local dog parks – including the Brookhaven Dog Park, which encompasses roughly 5.5 acres of enclosed space within Brookhaven Park.
