In early November, Farmhouse staff toured CHOA’s North Druid Hills site. The state-of-the-art LEED-certified building will be 19 stories tall with 446 rooms but has room to grow to over 1,000 rooms.
The 78 acres campus will have 3.6 miles of walking space and gardens. They will be bringing in 1200 trees all native to Georgia. 75% of patient rooms will be facing a garden view. The cost of this new children’s facility will be $2.8 billion. Scheduled to open in 2025.
Farmhouse is the proud sponsor of the Dunwoody Friends’ Mailbox Brigade. “Since 1990, Friends volunteers have continued a holiday tradition of decorating mailboxes to benefit patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. For a donation to Children’s, your mailbox is beautifully adorned with fresh holiday greenery and a festive handmade bow. Additionally, for every mailbox purchased, a patient at Children’s receives a “Holiday Hug” sign for their hospital door. Last year, Friends groups decorated almost 5,500 mailboxes with $271,000 donated to Children’s.”
Last week, more than 400 bows were made at the annual Dunwoody Friends’ bow party! It was such a fun night, and it felt so good to all be back together. Huge thank you to all of our lovely volunteers and to Farmhouse Realty for sponsoring the evening.
